Xiaomi is going to host an event in Beijing tomorrow where the company is going to announce the ‘Redmi Pro’ smartphone. There are also rumors about the company launching a new Mi-series of laptops and the Redmi Note 4 smartphone. The company had already put a few teasers online to confirm the Redmi Pro launch on that day. Today Xiaomi has posted a new teaser that features the company’s CEO Lei Jun holding the Redmi Pro in his hand.
The teaser just shows the upper half of the Redmi Pro’s rear but gives us a good idea about the smartphone’s design and the widely rumored dual-camera setup. Looking at the image, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro is likely to have a metal body and is likely to be available in space grey-like color option. The antenna bands along the top is also visible. In line with previous rumors, the smartphone comes with a dual-camera setup on the back. The image also reveals a LED flash between the two cameras.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is likely to come with a 5.5-inch full HD display. According to one of the recent teasers, the smartphone could come with an OLED display panel. The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is expected to run MediaTek’s Helio X25 deca-core processor along with 4GB of RAM. There are rumors of a 3GB RAM variant as well.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro features
The Xiaomi Redmi Pro is rumored to come with dual 13-megapixel rear cameras. It is not clear what the dual-cameras would be used for but earlier teasers had indicated the camera could possibly sense depth, which is similar to what HTC had done earlier. Since the smartphone has a dual-camera setup on the back, it is likely that the fingerprint sensor would be embedded in a physical home button below the display.
The smartphone is likely to come with connectivity features such as 4G LTE and support for VoLTE voice calling, Bluetooth, GPS, and Wi-Fi 802.11ac could also be expected. On the software front, the Redmi Pro could run on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.
